Happy Money

I recently had the good fortune to meet Ken Honda, who is known as the “Tony Robbins of Japan.” Ken has written numerous books, selling millions of copies, and I’ve just finished reading an advance copy of his latest book, Happy Money.

Happy Money doesn’t come out until June, so I don’t want to give anything away, but I will tell you that not only is this book wonderfully written, I believe it’s going to have a very big impact! In addition, I was pleased to find that I had, after hard work and a lot of suffering around money, figured out the essence of what he is saying on my own.

“Too often, money is a source of fear, stress, and anger, often breaking apart relationships and even ruining lives. We like to think money is just a number or a piece of paper, but it is so much more than that. Money has the ability to smile, it changes when it is given with a certain feeling, and the energy with which it imbues us impacts not only ourselves, but others as well.”

Ken talks about how the energy of money can be changed by the energy imparted to it by the people who handle it - that money can take on the energy of being happy or sad, depending on how we handle it, what we think and feel about it.

Many of you have heard me talk a lot about water and have maybe even joined me in a water blessing or listened to my water mediation. It is easy to love water, to bless water, to have water be your friend and even your beloved. Can you take that same feeling and apply it to money? If you can, then you will experience abundance. It is really as simple as that.

What do you notice in your body when you think about loving money like it is your beloved? How do you feel? What is uncomfortable? How we feel about money is how we feel about life. It is how we feel, out of habit - in general!

Do you feel guilty, ashamed, in judgement, afraid, frustrated, stuck? Like a victim? It’s all a story!

Life is love and money is life and love and it’s all waves in space. You either love it and are grateful for it and you trust it or you don’t!

A lot of what gets in our way of this easy and happy relationship with money is what I call “mind viruses”. Mind viruses are programs that our running in our minds that we didn’t put there. There are endless mind viruses about money. Here are just a few:

Money is dirty

Money is the root of all evil

Spiritual people should not have money

You can’t go to heaven if you are rich

Only bad people accumulate money

I am not worthy of money

Struggle is necessary

And more besides! If you had a friend that told you you were dirty and the root of all evil, would you want to hang out with them? Probably not.

In my upcoming group session on Money, we will find these various mind viruses and beliefs lurking in our conscious and subconscious minds, delete them and reprogram with positive and loving thoughts instead.

We need people who are kind and well-intentioned to make peace and be friends with money. Through money, we can make a difference in the world. We can support artists, donate to charities, help out friends and families in need. We can relax more, become even stronger coherent emitters in a world of chaos.
